Summer Hibiscus Herbal Tea/Popsicles

Summer Hibiscus Herbal Tea/Popsicles

Today I want to tell you about a tea I make for my family.  I use a combination of herbs and it tastes like an herbal kool-aide!  You can freeze this and it makes a wonderful popsicle as well!

I use a gallon jar because we drink lots of this!  I fill it with filtered water.

Summer Hibiscus Herbal Tea/Popsicles:

  • 4 TBSP Dried Hibiscus Flowers
  • 2 TBSP Dried Lemon Balm
  • 1 TBSP Oatstraw
  • 1 TBSP Red Raspberry Leaf
  • 1 Tsp Dried Stevia
  • 1 dropper Berry flavored Liquid stevia leaf

Place the lid on and set in the sun for a few hours.  Hibiscus is an amazing herb with many healthful properties, and can also be cold water infused.  I enjoy the deep red color it imparts when set in a warm spot though.

Once it’s brewed for a few hours in the sun bring it in and pour the tea into a pitcher through a mesh sieve to strain out all the spent herbs.  Pour over a glass of ice and add some lemon slices.  Alternately you could pour this into popsicle molds and freeze for a few hours.  My kids love these!  This is also a good recipe to keep in your pocket during the winter.  Hibiscus is rich in vitamin C.  It is a cooling astringent herb that assists the body with fevers.  I hope you enjoy this delicious tea!
